Patient Information

Everything you need to know before and between your visits. If you can't find what you're after, please call us on (03) 9650 0023 — our reception team is happy to help.

Appointments

We recommend booking ahead to secure a time that suits you, though we do our best to accommodate urgent concerns on the day where possible. If you or your child are unwell and need to be seen quickly, please call us and let reception know.

When booking, let us know if you think you'll need extra time — for example, for a mental health consultation, multiple concerns, a full check-up, or a procedure — so we can allocate a longer appointment and reduce your wait.

Please note Dr Danny-James Nguyen consults male patients only, by phone booking, and does not offer telehealth. All of his appointments are conducted in person.

Test results

Your health is important to us, so please don't assume that no news is good news. If your doctor has arranged tests, we ask that you book a follow-up appointment to discuss the results — this ensures they're explained properly and any next steps are put in place.

If a result needs earlier attention, our team will contact you using the details on your file, so please keep your phone number and email up to date with reception.

Repeat prescriptions

For your safety, we ask that you book a consultation for repeat prescriptions. This gives your doctor the chance to review how your medication is working, check for any side effects, and make sure your prescription remains appropriate. Regular reviews are an important part of managing your health well — not just a formality.

If you're on stable, long-term medication, your doctor can advise how often you'll need to be seen.

Telehealth

Telehealth (phone or video) is available for eligible patients. Please note that, under current Medicare rules, you must have had a face-to-face consultation with a La Trobe St Medical doctor within the previous 12 months to receive a Medicare rebate for a telehealth appointment.

  • New patients are not eligible for a Medicare rebate for telehealth.

  • Patients who have only ever had telehealth consultations with us are also not eligible for a rebate.

Please speak with reception to check your eligibility before booking.

Cancellations

We understand that plans change. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please give us at least 2 hours' notice so we can offer your time to another patient.
